Davina McCall has a baby girl

Television presenter Davina McCall has become a mum for the first time, after giving birth to a baby girl.

Davina is well known for presenting Big Brother, Don’t Try This At Home, Streetmate and other popular shows, and is married to Matthew Robertson – a presenter on Channel 4′s Pet Rescue programme. She chose to have her baby naturally at her Chiswick home in West London and two midwives attended the birth.

Her baby girl was born on Saturday evening and weighed in at 8lb 12oz. She’s been named Holly Willow. The sex of their child was a complete surprise until she was born. During her pregnancy, Davina said she’d love to find out, but that husband Matthew wouldn’t let her!

In a statement given to the press after the birth, Davina said, “We are all doing brilliantly and I can’t heap enough praise on my husband and midwives, Caroline Flint and Pam Wilde.”

Davina now plans to have about five months off work to be with baby Holly, before going back to her job. She doesn’t anticipate any problems dealing with her work and finding enough time to be with Holly, as she regards her show business career as being the perfect job for juggling the demands of family life and work.
