Baby for Katie Derham

17 April 2000

ITN newsreader Katie Derham has said she will be returning to
work following the birth of a baby girl.

The 29-year-old, who reads weekend bulletins on ITV, gave birth to her first
child Natasha in hospital last week. The baby weighed in at 7lb 10oz.

Derham and her management consultant husband John Vincent, both Cambridge graduates,
were said to be excited with their new arrival.

According to an ITN spokesman, the journalist, who married last year, had an
uncomplicated birth.

Derham told ITN: “We are so happy to meet our baby at last – to us she is the most
amazing thing in the world.

“The last few days have been amazing. We are absolutely thrilled to be parents and
we can’t wait to start life as a family.”

She is planning to return to her job in due course, beginning
with her weekend role as newscaster.
