Decision imminent on frozen eggs

A DECISION is expected today on whether the current ban on fertilising a
woman’s frozen eggs will be lifted.

The Human Fertilisation and Embryology Authority is expected to announce
its findings today, but there is no indication which way they will go.

Current rules mean that a woman’s eggs can be frozen, but at present they
can’t currently be thawed and fertilised.

There are fears that any baby conceived from a frozen egg may have genetic problems.
