Diary of a dad-to-be: Week 29

More news which proves we’re right in the middle of ‘babydom’. One
of Maria’s closest friends delivers a new daughter into the world.

She and her husband already have a three-year-old, so I figure we’re almost living duplicate lives.

We all met within a month, got married a few years later and now are set to both have a
couple of infant children.

Maria takes Sam to visit the new arrival and is perturbed by his joy in attempting to

pregnancy with the right result. Although Sam’s arrival is so fresh in the memory,
it’s still gratifying to see an end result to the long weeks of wondering.

Yet more people enquire as to which sex we prefer. To me it’s a nonsense, all that
matters is the health of the child (particularly after the scare we had). I wish I had a
pound for every time I’ve said that in the last few months!
