Babyworld’s big test
Group 0 infant carriers are portable, rear-facing car seats designed to transport your baby from one place to another. Generally designed with safety, comfort and ease of use in mind, your child’s first car seat is one of the most important items you’ll invest in and you’re likely to rely on it heavily during that precious first year of life.
| There are many different types of car seats available and the choice can be overwhelming. Make sure you educate yourself on the different options and styles so that you are confident that the seat you choose is a perfect fit – not only for your car but your lifestyle too. Lara Thomas and Finn |
The lowdown on infant car seats
The majority of infant car seats are built to suit a variety of parenting needs. Some can be used with a travel system, others are designed as rockers whilst the more modern options convert to a handy carry cot. There are also seats that come with their own fitted base -
perfect if you need to be in and out of the car quickly and can’t be bothered with seatbelt routing. Which seat you choose depends entirely on your baby’s weight and age, the type of car you have and your needs as a family. Read as much information as possible, speak to your friends and check out other babyworld reviews for a range of opinions on different seats.
Infant carriers should have a safe, secure fit that slots well into the seats of your car. Belt routing is also important and you should check that the seat offers plenty of room for the belt to fit comfortably and securely (without too much effort on your part!). You also need to
consider weight. If you buy a bulky car seat that’s heavy to lift, the likelihood that you’ll be able to carry it comfortably when your child reaches eight or nine months is minimal. Think practically, do your research and buy wisely – an educated purchase will give you the confidence and knowledge you need to select the right seat for your baby.
