Storage
The storage needs of the nursery are constantly changing as your baby grows. The entire
wardrobe of a tiny newborn would probably fit in a small basket, but this rapidly changes.
Perhaps the most important aspect of storage is that all your changing needs, including
clean clothes, are easily accessible alongside your changing area, so that your baby is
never left alone. A storage rack system or baskets near the changing mat work well.

stations often include a storage area for nappies and towels, while those that combine
a chest of drawers offer even better storage facilities.
Versatility is also important – a chest or blanket box makes useful storage for nappies
and blankets and can be used later for storing toys and games.
As most furniture in the nursery is relatively low, there may well be a lot of unused
wall space. A simple shaker-style peg rail makes an ideal place to hang clothes and soft
toys, and adds colour and interest to walls.
