About Emma Cannon Bsc Hons Ac, MbBAcC

Emma CannonEmma
Cannon is the founder and director of A Healthy Conception, a practice
in Chelsea and Harley Street. She is a registered acupuncturist and practitioner
of Chinese medicine and holds a Bachelor of Science from Westminster University,
where she received a first class honours in clinical work, and is a member
of the British Acupuncture Council. She has post graduate training with
The Royal College of Obstetrics and Gynaecology in the management and
treatment of infertility.

She co-founded The Fertility Clinic at Westover House with Mr Michael
Dooley, consultant obstetrician and gynaecologist, and has worked closely
for many years with Dr Tim Evans, general practitioner and Apothecary
to HM The Queen, Mr Adrian Lower, consultant gynaecologist, Zita West,
midwife and fertility specialist, and Jane Lyttleton, the Australian infertility
specialist.

In 2005, Emma was diagnosed with breast cancer. At 37 and in excellent
health, the diagnosis was a shock but she quickly realised she had all
the right information and people around her to help her. Using both traditional
medical treatment and aided by complementary therapies including hypnotherapy
and visualisation, she came through the ordeal successfully. The experience
has helped her empathise with patient’s emotional distress and also taught
her the valuable lesson of living in the moment.

Emma has written and contributed to articles for a cross-section of publications,
including The Guardian, the Daily Telegraph and Red and is listed in Tatler
as one of their Top 250 ‘leading medical specialists’. She lives in London
with her husband and two children and is available for interview and to
write features.
