In the first few days, your baby’s stools will be a thick, black sticky stuff
known as meconium. As he begins to feed on milk, his stools will gradually change colour,
first to greenish-brown, then to yellow. If he is breastfed, his stools will be bright
yellow and quite loose and smell almost sweet. If he is bottle fed, they will be browny
yellow, more solid and smell more like human excrement.
