The usual rule of thumb is a clean nappy for every feed, but you can certainly break this rule if your baby is feeding often (more frequentlythan six or seven times a day).
Feeding every couple of hours during the day is normal, especially for younger breastfed babies. You don’t need to change your baby’s nappy at night feeds, either, unless he’s passed stools.
Always change a nappy as soon as possible when you know your baby has passed stools, as the combination of faeces and urine can lead to nappy rash.
