Q: “I have been trying for a baby for two years now and, for the last six months, I have been having two periods each month. Exactly a week before my period is due, I have a 1-2 day period. Could this be the reason why I am having no luck? I have seen my doctor who has referred me to the hospital.”
A: Women who have irregular periods may still ovulate but even if they do, they do not do so as often as a woman who has a regular cycle. You should make sure that you are referred to a fertility specialist at the hospital. He or she will probably do some blood tests, test your husbands sperm count and then probably treat you with a fertility drug such as clomiphene. Good luck.
