Homeopathic remedies – First Aid

For babies, tablets should be crushed between two clean teaspoons and dissolved in 2fl oz of warm water, giving a teaspoon full as a dose. For young children, the tablets should be given crushed. Chamomilla is available in drop form.

Homeopathic remedies can also help in emergencies. Obviously, they should not replace professional medical help.

Remedy every five to 15 minutes for six to eight doses in severe cases. Every two to four hours for two days in less severe cases. Use 30c.

When to use

Arnica(also available as a cream) Shock. Haemorrhage. Bruises, sprains and strains. Fear of being touched due to pain.No.1 remedy for accidents. Always use this remedy first, follow with other remedies. Use 30c.
Camomilla Pain. Child distressed. Says can’t bear it.
Belladonna Pain, where it is shooting or throbbing. 30c may be needed in more severe cases, although doses should be further apart.
Apis mel Insect stings (eg. wasp/bee).
Also for severe allergic reactions to food or medicines.
Note that some allergies can be life threatening and an ambulance should be called in the event of any swelling, breathing difficulties or loss of consciousness.
Apis can be given in the meantime.
Hypericum No. 1 remedy for crushed fingers and toes, any nerve injury.
Urtica
Urens
Minor burns. Nettle rash – itching, stinging pain and swellings.

 

Remedies should be discontinued as soon as symptoms improve or if symptoms worsen.
