Hi Amber, I’m 5 weeks pregnant after 8 years of TTC, 3 failed IVFs and have got my first ever BFP from an egg donation cycle in Cyprus. I have Rheumatoid Arthritis, Underactive Thyroid, am on Clexane for PAI-1 polymorphism and Prednisolone for ANAs.
My GP has told me to book in with the midwife when I’m 10 weeks, but given my history and my thyroid issues, I’m concerned that my bloods need to be managed effectively.
    What would you advise?

    Thanks – Sarah x

    Hi Sarah,

Many congratulations on your pregnancy! I would agree that especially due to your thyroid issues, your bloods need to managed effectively. It’s especially important that thyroid levels are monitored closely and kept under control in early pregnancy. This is something your GP should be able to do, or an endocrinologist if this is felt more appropriate, so I would advise you discuss this with your GP as soon as possible. All the best.

Thanks Amber. I was very worried that they’d over looked this. Thanks again
