will failed induction affect onset of labour? (2 posts)

    Hi,
I had a failed induction in my 37th week as we all thought my waters had gone but I stopped leaking and was fed up so letting nature take its course. I am currently 39+1 will the four pessaries I had have any effect on my cervix and make me go into labour a little earlier than I would have done?
Probably not but so uncomfortable now so heres hoping…..

    Hi Sarah,

Sorry to hear you’re so uncomfortable at the moment. If the pessaries you had at 37 weeks didn’t start off your labour, it’s unlikely they would now. It’s now most likely to be down to whether or not your body is naturally ready to labour. I hope it’s not too much longer for you now. Remember that every day that passes is a day closer to meeting your baby and anything up to 42 weeks is normal human gestation. All the best.
