Once again, thank you SO much. I’m in Australia now, but (on your advice), I’ll contact the Australian Breastfeeding Assossiation, and see if they can help.

Thanks so much for your advice – terrified to do anything that will mess with my success! My problem with feeding when out is that I have MASSIVE boobs! I’m currently a 34L! When I feed, I have to use 2 hands, one to hold the baby and the other to hold the breast tissue [...]

I thought I’d share my story, particularly for those women who feel they can’t breastfeed due to past experience! I had my first son at 17. I wanted to breastfeed desperately, but after a week, I just couldn’t do it. Looking back, I didn’t have him latched correctly, so I was in constant pain. My [...]

Just after some advice. This is my 3rd child (3 months old), but the first one I have managed to successfully breastfeed. I was utterly determined for it to work this time, and it did!
Anyway, everything I read in advance said that you had to feed on demand, to make sure your milk [...] -

Hi all I just gave birth via c-section two weeks ago with dd2 and want to breastfeed her. With my dd1 the breastfeeding didn’t go well and my milk dried up. This time round I’m hoping I can breastfeed successfully. I’m fine with positioning her and I’m feeding her every 2-3 hours , I do [...]

My first daughter Hannah breastfed for the first few days of her life, then she started refusing to even try to latch on. The midwives spent hours with us both, but no matter what we tried she wouldn’t feed. After three days in which she had only one feed a day, I decided to formula [...]

Thanks for help Suzy. Work are paying the course fee so I’m not sure if they’ll go for the books too (NHS!). I may just have to bite the bullet and pay out myself.

Hi Sue, I’ve had a quick look around and they seem to hold their price so much that you can get a new copy cheaper than a second hand one! As you say, a library probably isn’t going to be any good if you want it out for the whole year and actually looking at [...]

I’m just about to start a breastfeeding specialist course and I’m wondering if anyone has any ideas where I can get these books cheaply or on a long-term loan? http://www.breastfeedingspecialist.com/Jones%20&%20Bartlett%20offer-Riordan-2010.pdf The course is a year so I’m not sure how I’d get on with borrowing from the library!

I need some advice please…
My little girl is almost 8 months old now and we have been weaning her since she was 6 months. She loves her food and when she is at nursery, she is now happily eating the same as the other children. My MIL very kindly looks after her for 3 days a week but yesterday we had a bit of an argument about what to feed Amelie. My MIL flatly refuses to give her anything more than pureed fruit because she doesn’t have any teeth yet. I really appreciate the support she gives us but how to I politely explain that she needs to give her lumpier food? I tried to sound surprised & said that she eats normal food at nursery but she just shrugged as if to say ”this conversation is over”. I was so upset, I felt like I was totally in the wrong for asking her to support us with weaning. It’s not easy weaning a baby!Well your mother in law is just trying to help, and take good care of the baby, and give her a good nutricion, and maybe she knows what she is doing. your baby should be getting both food but remember the baby has no teeth yet so she worried about big chunk of food.
Thanks for the advice. It’s a tough one as MIL is worried she will choke. I just have to accept she won’t give Amélie solid food until she’s older. We have to increase her days in nursery to 3 days a week now so I guess 2 ’soup’ days isn’t so bad
