We have this at my auntys house, as she has an open fire and it really does do what’s on the tin. It extends to a large size, does not get hot to touch and easy to clean. I would recommend this to anyone as it really does keep my little be away from the fire.

I got one of these in our old house which had a horrible old style gas fire- very baby unfriendly.
It went right round the fire- far enough from it not to heat up but close enough it didn’t take up our tiny living room. We screwed it to the wall and no matter how hard my son tried to remove it- and he really did, it didn’t budge.
Its a fantastic fireguard- second to non in my opinion. That was 4 years ago, I have since moved to a fire free house but gave the guard to a friend who is using it to this day- so even 4 years of kiddy bumping and bashing and its still going strong!

We got one of these as we had a coal fire in the house that we were renting.
I don’t have conventional children who will easily be told no and listen – they have to keep going back to see if the answer is still the same!
We got this as the most obvious choice for securing the fire and securing them!
IT was fantastic. I will say that it is easily bendable, but I have climber children who aren’t light, so perhaps that had something to do with it!!
Installation was easy and it’s not altogether too sore on the eyes!
Brilliant product, well worth the money for the peace of mind!

I recieved this Fire Guard free from my local SureStart group in Torfaen. I was really pleased to receive this as needed one but did not have the budget to buy one. I did think that it would be a bit rubbish as it was free!
I was wrong – it was excellent quality and really easy to assemble – it must be for me to be able to do this.
The people that owned the house before we bought it had already installed some hooks to attach it around my fireplace, and I made sure they were really secure as my daughter was very strong!
It has been a godsend as the hearth was not child-friendly and also kids always seem to want to nick the fake coals off the fire!!
The guard has been so good that I am now reusing it after taking it down and storing it in my attic. It’s as good as new now for my son.
This guard is great value for money and lasts years. I know I didn’t pay for it, but I definately would.

I bought this fire guard to cover my open fireplace when my twins started to get mobile. We didn’t fancy them bashing themselves on the hearth never mind the dangers of the fire itself.
It arrived in a pretty compact box considering it’s size and was super easy to set up (must be easy if I managed).
My other half screwed it to the wall so no manner of pulling and shaking would move it. It puts up with allot of abuse and it attached to the wall securely it won’t budge.
The clips on the sides are easy for adults to open but not for children and it can quickly fold down to stash out of sight once the kids are in bed.

I have recently purchased one of these guards having just installed a multi fuel burner in our lounge.
The guard is easy to assemble and to adjust to the correct width to fit your fireplace.
The guard is deep enough that it doesn’t heat up and at the same time it does not protrude into the room too much.
Its a classic design that families have used for generations, it does the job perfectly and looks ok considering its a safety product.
For anybody with a young child and a fire this is a must have product and offers excellent value for money.
