My sister’s pear is now 18 months old, nd I often childmind for her weekdays. I have her son who 16 months old up front and baby daughter in the cot facing me, this was exactly perfect. We walk long distances and not always on pavements, the lanes here can be a bit rough but the pear copes very well with this, it works well on all surfaces as my sleeping young lady proves. The pear feels as if it will go on forever and the basket holds more than enough supplies for a full day out. Lastly, my sister is a fair bit taller than I am, so the extendable handlebar makes it ideal for use between us both and the other halves! I would recommend it to anyone looking for a double :)

Excellent product. Solves all my problems. Can take one or two children out and they can both face me which is a bonus. Simple colour, easy to use, plenty of space, fold compactly, decent price for two children, I wish this was on the market when I had my first son as it would have saved me some time and money

    There are minor issues.
The wheels need to be well looked after – the rear ones are air filled so if they puncture, fix it like you would a bike. No ise complaining to iCandy, they’ll say the same. It requires maintenance if it sticks, a bit of silicone spray will smooth out the chassis and have it folding properly again. Don’t overload it and risk putting strain on it. In terms of it’s good fetures, there are so many practical ones. Everything clips into place, the adjustable handle and wheel motion. I do enjoy using the system and would recommend to others. Look after it and it’ll get you far.

I love the way it looks and feels compact when pushing it, the different options available such as using the car seat and carrycot with the toddler seat have been invaluable when in a rush or getting the children back in the car promptly. Icandy are now using flavour packs so you can change the colour of the hood and have matching footmuffs and fleece inserts and I will be purchasing one when my toddler no longer wants to be pushed around and the buggy used as a single.
One seat is smaller and fits inside the bigger one when stacking on the chassis in the boot of a car.
I love this pram and feel it has been value for money. It is very versatile unlike many others on the market. It is very attractive and turns alot of heads! But most of all both of my children have been very comfortable when being transported around in it!

Short Title: Would definitely recommend this over other doubles.
    Review:
As a childminder I’ve dealt with lots of double over the years – but I was particularly impressed with the pear (so much so it inspired me to buy my own iCandy). I love it. The system is fool proof to use as the blue or yellow carry cots/Seat units fit in to the blue or yellow holes- Simple. It has many different positions for each child and moves simply. I did have one problem where it became a bit hard to move but when I took it back to my retailer I just needed to pump the back tyres and the Pear returned to doing its perfect moves. I am now using the two seat units in which both of my children are high off the ground and have plenty of viewing room. When I bought it I was shown how to stack the seat and carry cot into the chassis for putting it in the car (a ford focus) and this works really well. The extra long handle makes mounting curbs easy even with two on board.
    They’re happy. I’m happy :)

The seat units are so roomy despite popular belief that larger toddlers won’t fit in them as I was told before I purchased it. I have an 18 month old who is 3 foot tall and he fits in it perfectly, still with lots of room. It can be used in single mode which is fantastic for when the eldest grows out of the pram and wants to walk, its slim enough to fit comfortably on buses/through shop doors, its easy to push and isn’t too big and clutsy like other twin pushchairs i’ve seen. It also looks fantastic, a lot of tandems are pretty hideous to say the least but this one looks brilliant. The thing i’ve loved the most about it is the fact I had the seat unit AND carrycot. The only thing I will say is the carrycot isn’t extremely roomy, DD was 9lbs 6oz at birth and has fully outgrown it at 3 months but its fine because the seat unit fully reclines and shes perfectly comfortable in it. The handle bars adjust according to how tall parent is, it can be rear or forward facing and the shopping basket is surprising very roomy and easy to access.

It is quite pricey but it is SO SO worth it. Definitely the best item we have ever purchased! I would advise to all.

    Short Title: Excellent Double!
    Review:
When I found out I was expecting again it was purely luck that I had originally bought the iCandy apple – all that was needed was to order the “Pip converter” and presto we had ourselves a double! Having initially found the Apple quite hard-going and durable (my positive spins on saying “heavy”) little did I know what I would expect when I’m pushing around two!

This said, I can’t fault the pear – its rear tyres have required maintenance from use over the last couple of years – just a case of pumping them up. There is definitely a knack to folding it – but nothing to grumble too much about. The kids seem more than comfortable. I find to give the kids extra room that iCandy make clear allowances – the bumper bar which serves little purpose is detachable, the hood can be adjusted and the foot rest can be adjusted to allow leg room for Abigail (growing by the day!).

I feel very secure using the pear – it’s a personal preference of ours over the lighter-weight models. Plus, the option of having an extra long handle suits my 6’3″ hubby to a tea!

Overall, for the mother in need of a double I would recommend!

Then they front of the push chair where the wheels r attached has just snapped on my way to school very dangerous it just folded in two with me children in it. As usual icandy dont want to know and have passed me on to sum one else i am going to take them to court for al the money i have lost. And the fact my daughter

Short Title: Ticks lots of boxes but still has faults
    Review:
The iCandy Pear is such a great idea and ticks so many boxes. It can be a single or double, is very sturdy, can be a travel system, the children can face forward or the parent, it’s pretty easy to push for a double. It sounds perfect and to be honest I couldn’t find a twin pram that was better.

It still has many faults though like most doubles. I was disappointed that as a single buggy it was only parent facing as I was told it was also forward facing. It wasn’t very easy to steer as a single in comparison to the Apple because of the different wheels.

I agree that the chassis is hard to collapse, the carrycot is too small and is awkward to put the baby into. The cost of the buggy and all the adapters and extra parts is far too much, I would recommend trying to buy as much as possible second hand. The basket is quite hard to get to when in double mode too. Also the buggy was a nightmare to put together when we first got it too.

The buggy does look stunning though and all the parts seemed good quality. I didn’t have any faults with mine. The handle is great and extends quite far or can go quite low.

Before I sold mine, I tested out the buggy with my two children (combined weight over 4 stone) and a large changing bag hanging from the handle and it was still quite easy to push and my 3 year old was quite comfortable in the smaller bottom seat.

Short Title: Serious supply chain issues
    Review:
We ordered an ICandy Pear in March ready for the arrival of our second baby who was due in August. Unfortunately ICandy have let us down in a big way. We originally asked for delivery in late June, so that we could get our 1st daughter used to the pushchair in advance. This then went back to late July after they couldn’t source orders. Things kept going back and back to the point where it’s now mid September, our daughter is now 5 weeks old and we’ve got no twin pushchair, so I can’t leave the house on my own. The supplier is so terrified of ICandy’s dominating sales tactics that they won’t even complain for fear of losing their contract and therefore we’re not even going to get compensation. All in all, for such an expensive pushchair we’ve been massively disappointed and are now looking at a Baby Jogger City Select instead – whether they’re better or worse, at least they’re in stock!

I was recommended the iCandy Pear by friends and it’s been fantastic. An extremely versatile pram where the seats, car seats and carry cots can all face either way plus the sitting position for my DD is great as she can properly sit upright. I was also quite worried that having a double buggy would be too much of a handful but I have found it really easy to get around places, it can go anywhere a single can!

Short Title: icandy pear solves all problems
    Review:
I’ve been wowed by this product since I bought it. I’ve had an icandy apple single pram since the autumn of 2009 and added the “PIP” (cute name eh ?) to change it to a double tandem pushchair in Feb this year. The apple had always suited our outdoor lifestyle as the stroller was so durable and I could load the basket with a days supplies with ease. Here are my points:

    1) The seat and cot combinations are numerous, I still like my two seats facing me.
    2) The seats are roomy enough for our oldest (at 18 months) so we are sure we will get full term use from it.
    3) It seems to cover any ground easily, for us much of it off road, steering is fine on all but the roughest surfaces.
    4) The basket is the biggest around.
    5) The handle raises higher than any other we’ve seen, as my other half is 6 feet 6 he needs it.
    6) After 5 months T.O.H. managed to rip part of the foam off the handle moving it in the garage. The store (Little Treasures) charged us for a new handle but fitted it without charge while we waited.
    7) We occasonally use it as a single still as it takes a moment to change back.
8)This pram looks like it will go on and on.

I don’t see many other double prams that look like they would take the punishment ours gets, and anyway i’m much more interested in how it works rather than looks.

this pushchair i think is great for twins and getting into small shops.

Things we found not so great was if you have the saets facing away from you its hard to get into your shopping basket. And the other thing is my twins are 20mths and i find they are growing out in height due to the hoods if we take them off than the rain cover wont go on as you need the hoods for the rain cover to stay on. and the 1 in the small seat is looking squashed even pushes the 1 in front seat with feet and she hates that.

Short Title: Its good but not perfect
    Review:
I really like this pushchair for pushing – the chassis is well built and solid and the wheels go in the direction you want them to. I can push it with one hand in a straight line though it takes 2 for cornering and to get up curbs (easier if you have the handle fully out for leverage). It’s no wider than a single pushchair so I can get it in the corner store, and if you sit the seats up and slide the handle right down then its not much longer than a single so I can also get it on the bus if I am the only pushchair on it.

I have had a problem with the height of the seats as both my kids are tall for their age and both have their heads either on or above the metal frame – though it doesnt seem to bother them as much as it bothers me, especially with the baby in the small seat. Also the mechanism broke on both the seats within a month of getting the pushchair though they have been replaced with no argument. I find it a bit irritating that I can’t have the small seat at the front facing me as I would rather have the baby close to me and my toddler (who quite often wants to walk for a while anyway) at the back. I don’t really get why it doesnt do that as if you have them facing forward you have the toddler at the front so the weight would be at the same place. It would also be good to have the choice of having two bigger seats – I don’t have a car so folded size is not an issue. Also the seatbars dont have hinges (unlike on the apple seat) so are pretty useless as you have to find extra hands to hold them when getting the kids out (as if you dont have enough to hold!). The carrycot is really a bit small and has a silly bar across the legs which makes it very difficult to get the baby in and out. My 4 month old is now in the seat but then again she is very long for her age. It is one of the only tandems to take a child over 15kg as the bigger seat goes upto 20kg (my son is 17kg) and this was the decision maker for us.

Its a bit of a mixed bag but in general I like it – it works but I would change a few things about the seat design/seat combinations if I could.

It is a pricey option though – was over

    Short Title: Great Double Pram
    Review:
I purchased the iCandy Pear whilst living in London (I am now in New Zealand). Like all doubles it has its good and bad points. My two children are 12 months apart, so I really needed a pram that they could both sleep in.

Good Points are: Both babies can sleep in the pram and recline independently. It looks good, and is very sturdy – I have never felt like it will tip over.

Bad Points: The fram will not fold down – it can take me up to 5 minutes of struggling with the frame to get it to collapse. I have emailed iCandy, but they never reply. This means that I can’t take the pram in my car, so am basically stuck at home until I buy a new pram. The small carrycot is just too small – my 8lb 13 born daughter only fitted in there for a few weeks! There is an annoying bar that you need to slip your newborns legs under to get them in there, and then they can’t move their legs. Also as a single it only faces rearwards – in the marketing it was meant to also face forwards, which is a real disappointment for my older child.

Apart from the fact I can’t fold the pram, I am really happy with all the other features. My son is now 24 months, and apart from having to purchase a bigger cosytoes he still fits in the seat fine. My 12 month old daughter still fits in the smaller seat fine, and in fact I can still get my older child in there too.

I was looking the other day at the i candy pear as a move up from the i candy apple which i currently have. i was having a go with the pear and was impressed with the manouverability of it especially with it having two seats. i love my i candy apple and its been a brilliant purchase so i have high hopes for the pear. My only gripe is that i have the carrycot for the apple and cannot use it on the pear as its too large for the pear. Abit of an extravagance considering i wont use it again!! i switched from the silver cross 3d as my son was too broad for the pushchair part and hated being in it. He loves the seat for the i candy apple and i can continue to use this with pear kit. he’s now 14 months and a stocky boy and there is still room for him to grow. This pushchair will definately stand the test of time and the service provided by i candy is brilliant. i initially had a problem with one of the front wheels and they sent me new wheels absoloutely free and within 2 day! brilliant! its a good all rounder system. plus i candy will service your pushchair free of charge when your pushchair reaches 18 months or when you convert to the pear system. Any repairs are done with no expense! a great company, a fabulous pushchair! and i like the fact you can change the colour of the liners/cosy toes if you get bored!

    Short Title: iCandy Pear- Fantastic
    Review:
    Hello,

I have the iCandy Pear and I picked over the Phil & Teds E3 and the Jane power twin for a number of reasons.

All though I cant have both of my children facing me at the moment I can have my toddler facing me and I find it very important at the moment as my Mum always insists that your baby speaks a lot sooner when they are facing you.

The second important reason is I can have my new born in the carry cot which is a completely flat based therefore protecting the growth of her spine for those vital first few months.

The seat units are smaller than a standard stroller but they are bigger than Bugaboo, Phil and Teds and the Jane Powertwin. My local stockist showed me a diagram which clearly shows the dimensions of each seat unit and the iCandy Pear won.

The weight is fine to push and I was initially alarmed as I read that it could be up to 20kg but my retailer informed me that I have to take the top half off to fold it making the max weight I have to lift in to the car between 8-10kg. I had a C-section so I need to be very careful how much I lifted but the chassis weight was fine.

The iCandy Pear is not the cheapest twin but I can use one of the seat units as a single stroller which really turns this in to a sound investment. We hope to try for one more- then that
