This car seat is suitable from 9 – 36kg or 9 months to 12 years. The real difference between this car seat and any other that I’ve used is that there are no straps or fiddly buckles to wrestle with, which is for me a huge bonus. Instead they use the Kiddy Impact Shield which is recommended from 9 – 18kgs, or approx. 4 years. Its an impact cushion as you can see in the photos that is held tight by the standard 3 point seat belt, it looks a bit odd but I would imagine that if the child had the seat from a young age the impact shield would be accepted as the norm and judging by the safety reviews on the Kiddy website is fantastically safe and easy to use. If you are buying this for a 3 year old and are not comfortable going straight to a normal belt i’d recommend you try it for size in store as i think most 3/4 year olds would struggle to fit comfortably with the impact shield in place. My daughter is just three and was far too big to use it.
On the plus side my daughter loves the fact she has a big seat with a big girls seat belt just like mummy and with all the padding and side protection i am not at all concerned she is not using the impact shield. The seat is easy to install as can be fixed with isofix or seatbelt- i love isofix, its a huge plus when you’re swapping seats between cars a lot or just prefer the added safety of isofix if you are like me less than comfortable with your ability to get the seat in just right and tight enough. Its really easy to expand. On most seats I’ve used you have to remove the seat from the car to expand it but the GuardianFix Pro has a one-pull \ push mechanism at the back to expand and retract the size which is very easy to move even with the child sitting in the seat.
It comes with a Booster cushion that fits on \ off easily with two ‘popper’ buttons and leg-rest extension feature but unless you have a huge amount of space in the back of your car this doesn’t really add much. It has fully breathable materials which makes the child cooler when in the seat and comes in a range of colours. It’s expensive at approx £250 but it should be the only seat you need from 9 months on so well worth the money!

Short Title: The new Kiddy group 123 car seat is sooooo easy to use
Review:
The Guardian Pro 2 is suitable from about 9 months right the way through until your child no longer needs a car seat. We are currently using it in the group 1 format which means that our daughter sits in the seat and is held in place with the Kiddy impact shield. We strap the main car seat belt over the impact shield and then pull the belt tight in place. It is incredibly easy to fit.
Something we really like is how light the seat is, and how easy it is to move around. Our daughter is at that stage now where she throws tantrums for anything and everything and she will quite regularly DEMAND that the car seat is moved from the left to the right side of the car. With her old car seat this simply wouldn’t have been an option. With the Guardian Pro 2, it takes about 1 second to move the seat.
We found the seat really easy to tailor to our daughter. There is a very simple insert which you can fold or unfold to increase your child’s height against the impact shield. The most impressive thing though is the single lever that you need to pull in order to raise the headrest and widen the shoulder supports all in one neat move. It is so easy to do compared to all previous seats we have tried.
The level of impact protection around the head is really noticeable… the head area really protrudes so I don’t think you could fit three of these car seats across the back seat of a car.
We have (unfortunately) already had a need to try out how easy it is to remove and wash the car seat covers and I can confirm that it was pretty intuitive and the covers came out of the wash looking just fine (we risked the washing machine)
The Kiddy Guardian Pro 2 is available for around
