We bought ours because it had a top safety score from Which, but was also very reasonably priced, and are extremely happy with it. It transfers easily between cars and fits properly in all that its been used in so far. Our son is very comfortable in it and often falls asleep resting on its front bumper. The rational behind the design makes perfect sense to me(as a physio) for reducing the risk of spinal injuries. I would recommend this product to anyone.

The Kiddy Infinity Pro car seat is fantastic! With no 5 point harness needed, the impact shield does all the work. A different concept, proving a very popular choice with our babyworld customers. Easy to fit and lightweight, I recommend the Kiddy Infinity Pro car seat everytime!

Short Title: A new idea on car seats
Overall Verdict: Just might be a bit too different to catch on
Best Feature: Very secure fit in our car
Worst Feature: Seems to clamp the child into the seat
    Tested for: 2 weeks
    Review:
We took charge of the car seat and can honestly say I have never seen anything like it before! The unique point about the Kiddy Infinity is that it has no 5 point harness and instead, the child is secured with an impact shield system. The child is sat into the car seat as normal and then the impact shield is placed in front of them, snugly into the padding of the actual seat. The whole seat, and child, is then secured using the car seat belt, with both the lap and shoulder belt feeding across the impact shield and clipping in.

So what did we think about it?

Safety wise, I found it fantastic. The fit was excellent, no movement from either the front or the sides. A couple of times while testing the car seat I had to make an emergency stop and it had no impact at all on the security of the seat.

In terms of putting our son (20months) into the car seat it was just as easy as a conventional stage 1 car seat. He soon learnt to lift his arms up to allow me to secure the impact shield.

My only real concern was the comfort of the seat. We tested the car seat during the hottest 2 weeks of the summer so far, and being that the seat and impact shield was covered in a velour type fabric I did worry about him getting hot. Also, because the impact shield ‘locks in’ his entire torso, I frequently took him out after travelling to find he was very sweaty.

My Husband’s concern about the comfort of the seat was that he was worried of over-tightening the seat belt and hurting our son. The way that the lap and shoulder belt secures across the impact shield, it means that to tighten it to get a secure fit you pull the shield very tight against the child’s stomach. Like I say, he was concerned about over-tightening and pushing against our son’s stomach.

The Kiddy Infinity does have a recline feature to make it more comfortable if the child falls asleep. However, this is not something that can be altered when you are travelling and the child happens to fall asleep. You have to put it in the recline position before securing the seat in the car. Not a major problem and we got round it by having the seat permanently reclined.

What did particularly impress me with the Kiddy Inifinity was the padding around our son’s head. it’s my understanding that this car seat gives greater protection in a side impact and I could quite believe that, given the ‘wings’ that were at the top of the car seat.

So what is my overall verdict? It’s a toughie! I was quite happy to go back to our son’s old car seat, and I think the main reason for that was that his whole torso was exposed and he just looked more comfortable. Would I recommend this car seat? I really don’t know. I had no major concerns when using it, like I said it’s fit in our car was excellent. I guess because it is so different from what we are used to seeing that is making me a bit hesitant? But if someone were to say to me they had got one I would quite happily tell them that I was confident and satisfied when we were using it.

    Review:
I won this product on a competition and it was a great surprise. But at first i couldn’t see how it would keep my daughter in as she use to get out of the straps of her 5 point harness seat. But the sheild keeps her in snuggy and safe. I’ve attached toys to the bar it also came with a teddy shaped soft book and she loves it and looks really safe. Now my older daughter wants one!! It’s so easy to install and great for moving to different cars as it is so light. I don’t seem to have the struggle to get her in anymore she sits still while i place the sheild infront of her and strap in the belt takes less than a min. Great i think every one should have one.

Overall Verdict: Good seat, will recommend.

    Review:
My eldest is currently in a Maxi Cosi PrioriFix car seat. The Kiddy InfinityPro is a very different concept and one that i struggled with at the start. It is forward facing but instead of the usual straps to harness your child in, it uses a protective inpact cushion, which using the cars seat belt you strap across your childs tummy area.

The InfinityPro is very easy to use and install. There is no fitting needed, it is just placed onto the cars seat (i needed to remove the headrest out of the car so it was flush against the seat) The child gets in, the impact cushion put into place and the seatbelt fed through the inpact cushion, clicked in then fed back again. The InfinityPro is very light and extremely easy to move from car to car.

To start with my eldest hated it and kept asking for her old car seat back, but now loves it and enjoys her top half not being so restricted. She doesn’t look particularly comfortable in it (and nothing like the computer pictures in the manual) her arms rest over the inpct cushion awkwardly, but she doesn’t complain it hurts or is uncomforable (and she is the sort of girl who would!) The headrest on the other hand looks very comfortable and supportive and like the whole seat it is padded. The head doesn’t flop forward or to the side and the whole head rest is height adjustable. There is also a seat cushion to use with younger babies that can be unfolded and then removed as they grow, maintaining a perfect fit. There is also a recline function which was recommended to me for younger babies or for a long journey. You pull out a stand from the bottom of the InfinityPro before you put it into the car. There is only one recline position.

I have struggled with concerns that the InfinityPro is safe, as it is so different from what i am used to, but it has been throughly tested and has been given brilliant safety reviews from which. Also i feel my daughter is less likely to escape the InfinityPro, she has a habit of pushing her straps off her shoulders, there is no way she could wriggle out of her inpact cushion!.

The quality is good, although some things feel a bit cheap and flimsy, for example the the handle at the back to move the headrest up and down. The covers are removeable and washable which is a must!

The InfinityPro, in my opinion is worth the money. I had a special edition pink one that came with a lamb comfort blanket attached, which apparently retails for around £160. I would recommend it to other people, especially if they have to move it from car to car as it is so light and doesn’t need to be fitted, so its quick too.

Short Title: Brilliant, Love It and so does my Daughter
    Overall Verdict: Brilliant Car Seat
    Best Feature: The Body Shield
    Worst Feature: Doesn’t have one
Tested for: One Month (so far)
    Review:
I bought this car seat because it has the best review and score from which.co.uk. I found that the best price we could get it for (in the colour I wanted – Orange) from the Stirling Pram Centre.

The seat is very, very simple to use. It doesn’t require to be strapped in or anything, you simply sit it on the seat of the car. You then put the “body shield” over the child’s abdomen area and feed the seatbelt over and through the “body shield”. It’s that simple. My daughter loves being in the seat as she is able to move her upper body more than she could in the 5 point harness and she also has toys attached to the seat to play with. The seat is padded brilliantly and my daughter seems very comfortable in it.

The seats WHICH score is 78%

It received 4 stars for it’s front crash test.

It received 5 stars for it’s side crash test.

It received 5 stars for its avoiding incorrect use test.
