I researched the best seats for my nephew and found that the CabrioFix is one of the safest seats available. It is easy to fit in the car with a seatbelt but my sister has the isofix base which has been easy for her to pop the seat on to. Just a small point to make – when the seat has been on the base, her baby flops forward slightly to the point where we have had to stop the car and reposition his head. (This may have been when he was not able to hold his head properly as he doesn’t seem to do it anymore.)
My sister has found that the seat is really heavy especially as her little man is now 20lbs! It isn’t particularly easy to carry the seat but I think you would find that with many of them especially with a heavy baby plus the baby bag with all the paraphenalia! The different handle positions enable you to have the seat in a rocking or fixed mode which is great if the baby is sleeping or feeding. The sunshade is effective and so is the compartment on the back if you wish to keep a dummy or a packet of wipes in there.
The only problems my sister has had with the seat are that when my nephew was around 4 months which is when they tell you that you can remove the padded inserts. We had to keep the head hugger in the seat as his head was flopping onto his chest. I cannot see this seat lasting until 12 months, more like 10. Overall, this is a good seat and obviously a lot of pram manufacturers think so as more and more are making adaptors for the Cabriofix to fit their pram.

Excellent seat whilst your baby is small. Mine lasted 9 months until her legs became too long. Very easy to use in conjunction with the iso-fix base. It clicks straight in and out, then into the brackets on the pushchair without disturbing her. The only disadvantage is it does get heavy when carrying for long periods. I always had confidence she was safe and secure in it.

I originaly intended to buy the Mamas & Papas Primo Viaggio however when we tried it in our car it slid around so we had to look for another seat and settled on this one.

It was much lighter than the Mamas & Papas seat and we have been really happy with it. We use it with the easybase but have found it just as easy to use it with a seat belt when using it in another car. My son always looks really comfy in it and we have the matching footmuff which is really useful if you have a winter baby. The integral sunshade is very clever and the fact that it the chair is so safe is a bonus. I use it with my Quinny Zapp frame and it makes a great travel system.

The only downside to the seat is that if you don’t get the sunshade clipped on correctly it pings off and hits my son in his eye.

So easy to use and fits on to alot of pram wheels. I strongly advice getting the base for the seat as it makes life so much easier when getting in and out of the car. Comes in great colours and the hood that is built in is great for windy or sunny days. Rain covers can also be bought from John Lewis. I find i use this seat for the car and for when im out and about as its so comfy for baby and easy to use transfer.

I bought my Maxi Cosi after having a heavier car seat which i was unable to lift with my little boy in after having a C section. It is brilliant. DS is so comfy in there and its so much lighter and so easy to use. The shade is a brilliant idea too.

I am not that familiar with all seats on the market, but we are very happy with this one, and got it following many recommendations

I bought this car seat because the one i had was so heavy and this was so much lighter and my son seemed so much more comfy in it because of the sitting position.
The sunshade is also a brill idea.

About the reviewer: Mum to Beth, 5 mths
Short Title: a good buy for newborns
    Review:
We chose this car seat purely because it received a top safety rating. It looked very comfortable for our daughter, Beth, when she was newborn as it supported her head well. However, she is only 5 months old at the moment, and despite taking out the newborn foam support, she already looks a bit squeezed in it due to the side impact protectors.
We use it with the isofix base which makes it very portable for moving in and out of the car whilst she’s asleep, although it is quite heavy to carry now.

    Short Title: A Workhorse
Overall Verdict: Excellent quality and very easy for me to fit safely every time
Best Feature: Comfort – we always had a sleeping baby in the car!
Worst Feature: Mouldings on the side of the seat (for impact protection) can knock your thighs when you’re carrying the seat
    Tested for: 12 months
    Review:
We’ve had full value from this seat, I can tell you!

It’s had serious use in the car, in the house, on the pushchair and has even accompanied us overseas and will still look almost good as new if we have another baby.

We picked it because it fitted our car and because it had excellent safety reports. It looks stylish, but most importantly, does the job.

We found the sunshade very effective and the storage compartment useful. We also used the head-hugger for a long time as I felt it gave extra protection and comfort.

Have had no need to wash the covers as I used the summer cover much of the time as this was a cotton material and therefore much easier to wash and kept Xander a bit cooler as he was a summer babe.

    Short Title: Good allrounder
Overall Verdict: A high quality seat
    Best Feature: The comfy materials
Worst Feature: having to undo the seatbelt to take it out
    Tested for: 5 weeks
    Review:
Ease of Use/Instructions:I thought this car seat was quite nice. The instructions where easy enough to follow and I thought the seat fitted well in the car and felt safe and secure once installed. It was easy to put finn in and strap him up and I found the straps easy to adjust. As with many other Group 0 seats, the seatbelt fits across the lap so you do have to undo it to take the carseat out.

Portability: The seat was fairly easy to take out of the car but at times, I found it heavy to carry. For additional portability, the seat can be teamed with the Maxi Cosi Speedi SX or the Quinny models to form a travel system.

Fitting in Car: This is straightforward and doesn’t take too much time at all. Very impressed.

Comfort/Quality:The Cabrio looks very comfortable and isn’t too upright for a young baby. I liked the material, it was thick and looked hardwearing as well as looking very neat and smart. A good quality seat.

Additional Extras: The seat comes with a head support cushion and a storage holder to put the instructions in. It also has a special adjuster that changes the depth of the seat to suit the weight of your child and doubles as a rocker when out of the car.

I thought this car seat was good value for the price but it didn’t have anything really special about it.

This is a great quality car seat. It’s reasonably light and very handsome.

My son, Josh, is using it. He’s currently five weeks old. He looks extremely comfortable in it and not at all squashed as some babies can look in car seats.

The car seat also looks very sturdy and safe and is very easy to fit into your car. My father has a Renault Megane and I have a Vauxhall Astra and it fits in either of these.

All in all a classy ride for my little boy…only the best for him :-)

I found this car seat very easy to use, the restraints are straight forward to adjust, not heavy at all and very comfortable to carry, as with any seat where the lap belt goes over the seat it was very easy to get in and out of the car and fit to the seats.

Olivia seemed very comfortable in it as she always fell asleep! It also came with a head hugger to support her head. I liked the idea of the hood being stored behind the back of the seat as it pushes out of the way until you need it.
