Short Title: Blink and shes gone – beep and she’s back!
Review:
You know you see some children that dont leave their parents shadow – well not my daughter; she is only 18 months but quite happy to be about 250 meters away in the park from us. She just wanders around and has no sense of distance or separation.
This is where the Mommy I’m here Child Locator came is very handy. A cute little Teddy bear attaches to the childs shoe and then there is a parent handset (Dont forget to arm the device when you first set out).
We like to let our daughter wander so far and then we press the magic button on the parent handset which signals she has gone too far. Our daughter then loves to come back at show us the teddy on her shoe. After playing this game a few times she knows now to come and find us, even if shes slightly out of sight.
I think it would be great for older kids in shopping malls & theme parks etc too although the teddy bear might be a bit babyish for them.

Short Title: Useful for busy streets
Review:
I tested the Baby Locator in a busy shopping centre at Christmas time. My daughter is pretty adept at dashing off if i look away for a second so I thought this would be really useful.
The baby Locator comes in two parts; a sinister-looking plastic bear which you attach to the child’s shoe or belt and a unit for mum to carry. If the child wanders off, mum presses a button on her unit which sets off a loud alarm on the child’s unit. I should specify here that it’s loud but not loud enough to damage the child’s ears. It works very well, although it caused me some embarrassment. That said though, if you have need for concern, then what’s a little embarrassment for peace of mind?
