Review:
These magazines are brilliant. They are different to the craft / literacy based magazines we have been used as they are a mixture of stories, science, nature, fun and games and cartoons and are aimed at 3-6 year olds. The story is a length of a standard toddler book so a prefect bedtime story length. Facts about animals and nature are given and questions about the world at large are answered such as: Why do we have five fingers?, Why do aeroplanes leave trails in the sky? My four year old who is constantly asking why, why, why to everything lapped up all the facts and answers and really enjoyed learning about new things. The games and puzzles are fun and thought provoking at the same time.
The magazine is also downloadable as an iPad app. The story is in an audio format so your child can listen to it as a bedtime story or you can read it to them. I asked my son which format he preferred and why. He said he preferred the app as the book talked to him, he could interact with the games and that he could play with iPad. (he’s not allowed to play with it normally, hence the appeal). As a parent I prefer the magazine version as I’d rather he wasn’t plugged into technology too early in life.
I would definately recommend both formats to anyone who has a child who is constantly wanting to know more about the world around them.
