Review:
The monitor comes with a movement sensor pad, which sounds an alarm to alert the parents if the baby hasn’t moved for a set time limit. There is an integrated night-light on the babies unit, and a thermometer to let you know the room temperature, which is displayed on both the babies and the parents units. There is also a two-way talk feature, which allows parents to talk to the baby through the monitor at the touch of a button. The monitor has an out of range indicator which sounds an alarm if the portable parent unit is moved beyond the 300m range.
The monitors were very easy to set up, I barely needed to look at the instructions to get it going, it was a case of plug in and go. The sensor mat just slipped under the mattress to the cot, plugged into the babies monitor and was up and running. The monitors look very sleek and stylish, and were quite small so they don’t take up too much room in the nursery, which in my case doesn’t have that much surface area spare. The sensor mat really helped me get some sleep, as I was no longer getting up regularly to check baby was OK, there’s a light system where the more blue lights that are lit up the louder the babies cries, so it’s easy to glance at the monitor and know baby is sleeping soundly. However, its easy to forget about it and it gives you a real shock when you pick up the baby and the alarm goes off! The range was very good, 300m, which meant when Lily goes down for her nap in the day, I can get around the house and get all my jobs done, the monitor range even stretches into the garden, so I can pop out and get some gardening done without worrying about Lily as she sleeps. Plus, there’s an out of range alarm so I know if I’ve gone too far away. The two-way talk system has proven very useful, as sometimes Lily needs to hear my voice to resettle in the middle of the night, and this saves me from getting out of bed. The Night-light wasn’t very useful though, because it was very dull, I am going to have to get a separate night light for the nursery too. However, the temperature display I have found very useful, and very accurate. I thought it was good that the rechargeable batteries for the parent unit was included in the box, however, I found that they need to be recharged quite often which can sometimes be an inconvenience. Other than that I have nothing negative to say about this product, I think that it’s very reasonably priced for the peace of mind it gives.
I think that this is an excellent product, it works very well, and sounds really clear.
